Brokenhearted Lover

Sometimes love seems like good idea,
You go ahead and you jump right in.
Other times you want to test the waters,
Before you dive back in again.

There's a world of wonder waiting,
Outside your door.
But you're to scared to try the lock,
So you spend your nights pacing the floor.

Destitute in your solitude,
You're dying to reach out.
Your willing to pay for your love,
But, baby you ain't got the clout.

But then you find a love,
You're willing to call your own.
You give it everything you've got,
But still end up alone.

Just another broken-hearted lover,
Just another loser singing the blues,
Just another broken-hearted lover,
Just another Casanova destined to lose.

City streets are cold and empty,
No one offers up a smile.
Gray places n' forlorn faces,
Greet each dusty mile.

Hearts beat loudly when there're empty,
Like a hollow metal drum.
Wounds heal slowly when you're lonely,
Your soul bleeds until you're numb.

But then you find a love,
Welcome shelter from the gale.
Light rains down from above,
Yet still you lose the trail.

Just another broken-hearted lover,
Just another loser singing the blues,
Just another broken-hearted lover,
Just another Casanova destined to lose.
