When Irony becomes the standard, it fails to be ironic. Lets carry this over to your "standard" of dress -- You are no longer wearing that button, bandanna, hat or apricot kerchief because its ironic or iconic, it's simply moronic: an uninspired affectation that in no way represents you "dude".
